About Traditional Style
Traditional style lamps usually have ivory or white fabric shades with bronze, gold, or silver finishes on the base. Silhouettes can be urn-shaped, round, or gourd-shaped. Materials can be ceramic, glass, stone, porcelain, or metal. Today's traditional chandeliers take their inspiration from pre-electricity days when candles were the source of light. Today's designs often keep a candelabra look either with or without shades; some chandeliers instead use glass bowls as diffusers around each bulb. Colors are typically warm, with beige glass and brown finishes. Sometimes finishes can be black, gold, or silver. Traditional style typically has soft tones, curves, and has an overall comforting look, harkening back to its European design roots.
